Need a DFAT Apostille in Sydney?

Swift Notary can have your document Apostilled by DFAT for you. We manage the application and appointment process with DFAT from start to finish - ensuring that your documents are Apostilled correctly the first time. We attend DFAT daily for clients.

Who can issue an Apostille?

DFAT is the only body in Australia that is authorised to issue Apostilles. An Apostille confirms the authenticity of the document's signature, seal or stamp and the authority of the person or organisation that issued it. DFAT issues Apostilles through the passport office in each State and Territory in Australia.

What documents can be Apostilled by DFAT?

DFAT will only Apostille an original Australian Government issued document or a document that has been notarised by a Notary public.

An Australian Government issued document includes the following: birth certificate, citizenship certificate, death certificate, divorce certificate, marriage certificate (excluding ceremonial certificate); single status or record of no result, certificate of residency issued by the Australian Tax Office (ATO), fingerprint report issued by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and National Police Certificate issued by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

If your document is not an original Australian Government issued document then it will need to be notarised before being Apostilled by DFAT. Please visit Swift Notary for notarisation of your document.
